Bernie Ecclestone expresses doubts about the Korean Grand Prix
The Chief Administrator of Formula 1 Racing, Bernie Ecclestone has expressed his concerns about the upcoming Korean Grand Prix and the conditions of the race track. According to Ecclestone, the race track for the Korean Grand Prix is not in good shape and
needs to be inspected before the event.
In a very recent interview, the chairman of Formula 1 expressed his concerns and thoughts about this October’s Korean Grand Prix. He told the media that its racing track was not properly maintained and it was going to be inspected carefully. The 79-year-old
added that the track is not good but still, they are hoping for the best for the event to be organized in a proper manner.
The concerns and fears of Ecclestone no doubt come as a warning sign for the Korean officials. According to some reports, F1’s Korean team has taken these comments very seriously. However, they are still hopeful that the event will go according to plan.
In a very recent interview, the spokesman from Korea Auto Valley Operation (KAVO), Kim Jae Ho told the media that the officials are trying hard to improve track conditions before the event’s given date. Later, Jae Ho informed media outlets that the management
has no problems in organizing the Grand Prix event on the 24th of the October. He added that their preparations are almost complete and they are looking forward to a great event.
It is to be notified that the Formula 1 Chairman Bernie Ecclestone has shown his disappointment regarding the preparation for the event in Korea. It is also reported that the Korean International Circuit is still under construction and an inspection team
had to visit the place on the 21st of September to review the current condition of the circuit. Unfortunately for the team, the 21st of September was a public holiday in Korea. Now the inspection team will visit the place according to
a new date. FIA’s press officer Alexandra Schieren had told the media that the new inspection date for the Korean International Circuit will be set on the 11th of October. While talking about the matter, the FIA officer told the media that they
are hopeful to see better results.
On the other hand, the spokesman for the Korean officials told the media that they are working hard to make sure that everything is going according to plan. Kim Jae Ho told the media that the work will be completed before the final inspection of the circuit
as they are trying their level best to make everything ready for the event. Kim added that the Korean officials for the Formula 1 event have taken the remarks of Ecclestone pretty seriously and they are very hopeful for the best outcome.
According to media critic Martin Brundle, the doubts and comments raised by Ecclestone should be considered as a warning by KAVO officials. Brundle added that the message from Ecclestone has certainly stirred the nerves of the Korean officials and now they
needed to work harder in order to organize the event. He added that the message has been conveyed very strongly and he is very hopeful to see the race according to the plans as the warning has caused a sudden rush and tension for the officials to complete
the work as soon as possible.
Such criticism from all around the world regarding the International Korean circuit comes as a strong blow to KAVO officials. Now it is their job to complete the required work before the inspection date.
