Bernie Ecclestone feels excited for London Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Formula 1 chief executive officer, Bernie Ecclestone has said that he is feeling really excited about the idea of London Grand Prix at Olympic Park.
Ecclestone said that if they will be able to arrange a race event in central London, it will be a great success for the sport and will be extremely delightful for the fans around the world.
Moreover, he said that he is eagerly looking forward to a second F1 race in Great Britain while he said that Olympic Park is the perfect venue to attract big audiences.
"It's surprising how many people have come out, it's good. I'm sure we'd get big crowds," he told Reuters of whether the venue would suit an F1 race.
In addition, he said that he really admires the idea of the London GP. Although, he said that the scheme is presently in the discussion stage and they working with Santander on the plan. Nonetheless, he said that they are keenly waiting for the thought to
become reality in the near future.
"It depends on the circuit, at the moment we are just looking at that. Somebody is looking about going into the centre of the arena and out again, so whether that is going happen or not, we'll have a look and see. We looked before about something more in
central London, so we'll see what happens. Let's get this out the way, and then we'll have a look at it," he added.
It will be interesting to mention that many drivers have expressed their views about the race in central London in general and the McLaren pair of drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button in specific.
Hamilton said that he will feel immensely pleased to participate in the second race in his homeland. Similarly, his teammate and compatriot, Button also said that he will be really happy to race in the streets of London while he said that it is great vision
which should be turned to reality.
Over and above, it will be extremely exciting to see whether the dream of London GP turns into reality or not.
