Bernie Ecclestone not happy to see Michael Schumacher struggling in Formula 1
Formula 1 Management chief Bernie Ecclestone has recently stated that he is quite disappointed to see the seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher struggling in Formula 1.
“Michael is a true superman so it's sad to see him have to fight for such low places. He is still a competitive guy and when he has so much experience, he should lead Mercedes more in the right direction,” said Ecclestone.
Schumacher retired from the sport after the 2006 Formula 1 season before returning in 2010 with a very promising team Mercedes GP. The team is headed by Ross Brawn who gave BrawnGP the drivers’ and constructors’ titles in 2009 just a year before after which
it was believed that Mercedes would be strong as well in 2010.
However, the team failed to produce results and now, a legendary driver like Michael Schumacher is being defeated by his teammate Nico Rosberg on almost regular occasions which is quite sad for Bernie.
For Schumacher on the other hand, the main problem with Mercedes GP is its qualifying pace as the team has not been able to produce good qualifying results. During the race, they are quite competitive and they do challenge for good points at each race keeping
in mind that they start behind the top running teams on almost every occasion.
“The race always looks better for me than qualifying. There are many reasons that would be very complicated to explain, also some technical problems, but Nico (Rosberg) is really one of the best qualifiers in the field, his performance is really impressive,”
said Schumacher.
Other than that, he claims that his new relaxed attitude is a problem for him as well and it has surprised many in the sport since he is quite aggressive by nature. He added that since his return, he has kept his cool and is now more relaxed then he was
before.
Either way, he is hoping for better results in the future and he believes that the team will provide him with a good car soon.
