Bernie Ecclestone returns to work with a bruised eye
The Formula one supremo, Bernie Ecclestone is already back to work although his eye is still bruised. While talking to the media earlier today he said that he feels alright but the trauma of Friday still remains fresh in his head.
Ecclestone was attacked by some muggers in London yesterday. They hit the 80-year-old and left him lying on the road with his head bleeding and an eye very badly bruised. The F1 chief was attacked while he was leaving his office with his girl friend. A small
group of men came violently and took away all their belongings and all the cash the couple had.
As the sports’ chief executive, got back to the office today morning, he told reporters that he could feel pain due to the wounds but overall he is fine. He said that the pain is expected to stay a few more days but he is still happy that he has escaped
any major injury.
As he recalled the mishap of the day he said, "I'm feeling it now, bit painful, it was a good whacking. When I was on the ground I could hear Fabiana (Flosi) screaming for help and I took a kick or two in the head and went unconscious. When I came to there
was blood everywhere from my head wound but I was lucky”.
He further continued telling, "It was completely stupid and uncalled for. If they had confronted me and asked for everything we had, I would have handed over everything in my pockets, my wallet, anything".
Of all the things taken away by the muggers, Ecclestone is most annoyed over his girlfriend's earrings. He very angrily told that they "ripped" the earrings off her ears.
On further probing he revealed that the Hublot watch that was taken off his wrist cost even more than $300,000.
Many of the drivers and teams condemned the incident saying that it was a very ill-deed. Ecclestone's daughter and a super model, Tamara Ecclestone also disapproved the "hideous" attack, however, she said that she was glad that her father is safe now.
She further informed that her ‘dad’ has already gone back to work.
Tamara was proud to say that it takes a lot more to throw off her father than a cowardly act of the muggers. She assured that she called up Ecclestone this morning and was pleased to find him in good spirits.
