Bernie Ecclestone says the idea of London Grand Prix is not a joke – Formula 1 news
Formula 1 chief executive officer, Bernie Ecclestone has said that the idea of the London Grand Prix is not a joke and insisted that he is already developing an action plan for it.
“It's no joke, 100% completely no joke,” he said. “With the way things are, maybe we would front it and put money up for it. If we got OK and everything was fine, I think we could do that.”
He also revealed the stance of the sponsor, Santander and expressed his initial comments on the scheme.
“They showed me their idea two or three months ago and said, 'It looks good. It looks exciting. It's good publicity for British Grand Prix and Santander.' I said: 'You're bloody right it is.' And before I knew it I was apparently one who was behind it. I
didn't know about it to be honest, but I accepted the credit,” he said.
In addition, he said that he don’t want to go into the details about the plan while he asserted that few of the facets have already been discharged as they were quite unacceptable. Nevertheless, he said that there is much feasibility on which they can start
their working.
