Bernie Ecclestone sure McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton will get back in top form – Formula 1 news
Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone is sure McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton will bounce back on the grid in the last two races of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Ecclestone said that Hamilton will get out of his current situation very soon. He spoke to the Brit in India and said that he is a great driver and will soon return to his best.
He also mentioned that Hamilton has performed well in the ongoing season so far. In addition, he stated that at the moment he just needs to change his luck to get back to the competitive form among his rivals.
Ecclestone commented, “In life you go through ups and downs, and I think he is just going through a bit of a rough period generally in his life. When life is easy you get lucky and everything goes well. When things start going wrong they start piling up
and going more wrong.”
Apart from that, Ecclestone discussed the 2011 incidents between Hamilton and Ferrari’s Felipe Massa. He added that he does not think these incidents were intentional between them.
He further stated that these types of things happen during the race, but it is just really strange that it always happens between those two drivers.
On the other hand, the Woking-based outfit principal Martin Whitmarsh talked to the media and said that it is fact Hamilton is a great exciting driver in their team, but he does not like being beaten by anyone, least of all by his teammate Jenson Button.
Whitmarsh added that he wants Hamilton to try and beat his teammate Button just as he wants Button to beat Hamilton.
The team driver Jenson Button is performing very well for McLaren-Mercedes since the start of the 2011 championship battle. He tried his best to clinch the 2011 title, but Red Bull Racing’s Sebastian Vettel has been faster as compared to him throughout the
season so far.
After finishing 17 rounds of the ongoing season, Button is sitting at the second position ahead of Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso with 240 points in the drivers’ championship.
Let’s see how Hamilton and Button perform in the last two races of the season.
