I recently bought a used Bernina Activa 131, and I'm having a problem making buttonholes. I was practicing making a manual buttonhole and followed the directions in the manual and was rather pleased with the result and decided to keep practicing. Unfortunately my machine will not make another one. I selected the buttonhole function. I made the first forward step, stopped and pushed the auto recers button but nothing happens the machine continues moving forwaard and the screen keeps showing the first forward stitch no matter how many times I push the auto recerse button. I tried making the automatic buttonholes and the same thing happens. I cleared it and turned it off and tried again, but it will only go forward. I'm so hoping someone will help me fix this.
