Bernina Virtuosa 150 and uneven layers or bulk.

Question

The Bernina Virtuosa 150 cannot get over bulky seams. Even moderately bulky seams are impossible without using the little plastic shims provided by the manufacturer. These are not efficient and must be moved along under the presser foot as the sewing advances.Is there a modification, part, or adjustment that can be made to this machine to make it handle uneven layers of fabric?Thank you.Paige
