Question:

Berries that are like mullberries but grow on vines?

We used to have these berries that had these characteristics:

They were edible

They were deliciously tart sour and a little sweet

Dogs, horses, and humans were not allergic to them

They grew on a very long spindley vine that wrapped very loosley around an object. (our 2 vines were seperate and wrapped around an air cooling system and a pile of wooden boards)

They were a deep purple-blackish color.

Any help would be VERY appreciated, we want to grow some more because ours were exterminated by accident.

Any questions at all will be answered in additinal details.

Thanks,

Anastasia Kp

  1. Blackberries, raspberries?

  2. Sounds like wild grapes (Vitis spp.).  They grow in woods, open areas, disturbed areas, etc.  Many people consider them weeds because they can "choke out" trees and shrubs.  I personally think they look pretty cool.
