Berry Henson enjoys his lead in the final round at Clearwater Masters – Asian Development Tour
The Clearwater Masters played under the Asian Development Tour produced some excellent results after the third round concluded today. Sanctuary Golf Resort in Batu Gajah, Perak
is hosting this year’s championship. Once again, the overnight leader Berry Hanson showed his class and leads the event.
Henson is known for his long drives off the tee and his ability to hit the ball powerfully. He certainly showed his class in front of the spectators and carded another brilliant
round. Henson posted a score of six-under par, 66 on the third day to maintain his lead.
The big-hitter American continues to play in great manner. His third round was all class as some of his birdies were resultant in great approach shots. Hanson also had a great
eagle on his score card and leads the 54-hole championship by a good margin of six shots.
Henson’s third round was the result of his good form. He was striking the ball well off the fairways and caressed the ball on the greens. It looked like the American was playing
on his home course.
After three rounds have concluded, Henson is more than happy with his performance during the championship so far. He truly has shown his ability. He earned the Asian Tour card
this year by successfully making it through the qualifying school earlier this year.
Now, Henson goes in the final round as the leader. He six clear and has a good chance of winning his maiden career title playing on the Asian circuit. This will be a good break
through win for the American.
Two youngsters are six behind the leader. The local lad Shaaban Hussin and Thai Atthaphon Prathmmunee are tied for the second position after three rounds. They have a three day
score of nine-under par, 207.
Hussin once again looked confident playing on his home course. He carded a great round of four-under par, 68 and never looked shy of attacking the pin placements. The Malaysian
had five birdies and a single bogey on his card. Two of his birdies came on the closing holes which helped him jump on the leader board.
As for the Thai Atthaphon, he was steady during the third round. He carded a modest round of two-under par, 70 and shares the second place.
The leader Henson after his round said, “I felt super strong. I’m not sure what it was, maybe it was the food I ate! Coming off 18, I felt like I could play another 18 holes.”
The final round of this 72-hole championship will commence tomorrow in Malaysia. Henson, going in the final round will feel a little comfortable with his six shot advantage over
his nearest competitors. It will surely be wonderful to watch the battle for the trophy on the final day between all these players.
