Berry Henson looks to return to his form at the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship
Berry Henson of the United States is hoping to return to his form, when he tees off at this week’s Yeangder Tournament Players Championship, at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club, on Thursday, September 13, 2012.
Last year, he recorded the only Asian Tour victory of his career at the ICTSI Philippine Open. Afterwards, he started showing some poor performances and became one of the low rated players on the tour.
Right from the beginning of the 2012 season, the 33-year-old struggled to maintain his form and recorded only two top-10 finishes in 13 events that he has played so far.
He now plans to stay patient and rediscover his winning form in the remaining few tournaments on the tour.
“I haven’t been playing good this year. I had some good finishes but I haven’t been able to put everything together so I would like to give myself a C for what I’ve done so far,” said Henson.
While talking to the Asian Tour’s official website, he admitted that he tried to put extra efforts whenever he teed off this year. However, the game-plan did not work out for him.
He now plans to play his natural game while avoiding the mistakes that he made earlier in the season.
“I’ve been struggling and I guess all that I can do right now is to stay patient. Having said that, there’s still a lot of opportunities from now till the end of the year to make a big jump up the Order of Merit,” he added. “It really only needs one good
week and you can jump into that number one spot”.
According to the golf commentators, Henson needs to focus on his putting technique, as he always struggled with this aspect of his game.
His game off the tee is above average and he has the ability to hot the greens in regulation. However, whenever he holds the putter in hand, he gets confused and turns a good finish into an average finish.
In the meantime, he is also working on a music video and is optimistic about its success after it will be launched to the public. He is hopeful that the Korean-inspired video will be a great hit.
