Berry Henson returns to action at the CJ Invitational Hosted by KJ Choi
Berry Henson of the United States is set to return to his winning ways, when he tees off this week at the CJ Invitational Hosted by KJ Choi, slated to start from October 4 to 7, 2012.
This will be the first time that an Asian player, KJ Choi, will be hosting a co-sanctioned event by the Asian Tour and the Korean Golf Tour.
Moreover, Choi will become the fourth player in the history of sport to participate in his own hosted event.
The tournament will be played at the Haesley Nine Bridges Golf Club, featuring a total of 120 players – 55 each from the Asian Tour and the Korean Golf Tour and 10 sponsor exemptions.
Henson, who took last week off, in a bid to refresh his mind for this week’s competition, believes that he will make a strong comeback on the Asian Tour.
According to him, he took some time off and had some practice on the range. As a result, he was able to tweak his game and brought some positive changes in his playing technique.
Moreover, he stated that he will try to recover the same form that earned him a victory last year in Philippines and three top-10 finishes early this season.
“It was a much-needed rest and I got some really good practice in. I feel ready for the next stretch,” said Henson.
“I can’t control others but I can control my week. I’m starting to play well and getting into contention on Sunday like every other week,” added Henson.
Talking about the venue course, he stated that it will be really easy to score on a layout that offers plenty of birdie-chances to the participating players.
Yet, it will be really crucial to hit the fairways and greens in regulation. Otherwise, it can become difficult for the players to save the pars due to the thickness of the roughs.
“This is an awesome golf course! It’s also what you call a second-shot golf course where once you can get it onto the fairway, you have to be really precise on your second shot and get it into the right spot,” said the American.
