The Dutch Football Association director has ruled out the Oranje as one of the favourites to emerge victorious at Euro 2012, and has agreed with UEFA president Michel Platini that Spain and Germany are the favourites.
Bert van Oostveen, the Dutch Football Association (FA) director, has stressed that he expects the Oranje to at least reach the semi-finals of the Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.
After performing brilliantly in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757, the Oranje are widely touted as one of the favourites to go all the way to become European champions.
The Dutch FA director has made it clear that his side is aiming to reach atleast the semi-finals of the competition.
“That is our goal, that is what we are gearing towards. We aren’t making a secret of it. The team has great potential and it is almost the same squad as two years ago at the World Cup. And there, we reached the final”, Van Oostveen
was quoted as saying to Nusport.nl.
The Flying Dutchmen performed extraordinarily in the Euro 2012 qualifiers, and finished at the apex of the Group F. They outclassed every opposition in their pool, and lost only one of their 10 games.

However, UEFA president, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-c25453 Platini, recently confessed that the Flying Dutchmen are not the favourites to lift the trophy, and Van Oostveen has also supported Platini’s statement.
“Nevertheless, I agree with [Uefa president] Michel Platini that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 are the big favourites”, the Dutch FA director concluded.
