  1. Microsoft Word 2007 with the download from Microsoft. Or Open Office version 3.0 you can import and export, and it's free.


  2. foxitreader.  much better, less taxing on ram.

    much better than adobe

    less memory required

  5. divx  it worked good for me when trying to play vids from my phone

  6. Firefox can open PDF files with the proper plugin.

  8. Photoshop used to be able to, so I assume modern versions can as well.

  9. I dumped my Adobe Acrobat Reader. It is so bloated and it consumes more than 50 MB of disk space.

    Now I use FoxIt pdf Reader, that's much less taxing on disk space and memory use.

    You can also use Nitro PDF and Cute PDF.
