  1. Cold Soba. It's refreshing and healthy!

  2. Nabeyaki Udon.

    (noodle soup with seafood)

I'm just really craving that right now...or takoyaki

  3. Grilled Kobe Beef skewers served over raw shredded cabbage with a drizzle of Wasabi/Soy Sauce dressing over top.

  4. sukiyaki -- pronounced "ski-ya-kee"

    shabu shabu

    okonomiyaki

    hokke -- for seafood lovers

    sashimi -- similar to sushi

takoyaki -- a kind of octopus dish (not my favorite, to be honest)

Genghis Khan -- pronounced "jengis khan" in Japan; a really good noodle dish

Kentucky Fried Chicken -- not Japanese, I know, but the Colonel is all over Japan!

  5. UNAGIDON - bbq eel over rice... soooo good

RAMEN - AMAZINGLY GOOD... not like Top Ramen, but still kinda junk foody

SABA SHIOYAKI - salted broiled fish

Sorry if this answer is kind of annoying.  I'm really hungry right now and craving some intensely good and salty noodle soup.

  6. Chicken Teriyaki, Yakitori, Gyoza all good! :)

  7. Besides those mentioned already:

Agedashi-tofu: deep-fried squares of silky smooth tofu in dashi (stock).

    Chawan-mushi: savoury steamed custard

    Charcoal-grilled seafood

Minced chicken with teriyaki sauce, shaped into balls and skewered

Avoid serving sashimi at home unless you're really sure of getting extremely fresh fish & observing the highest hygiene standards. Things like shabu-shabu are considered main courses.
