We have an old house with a crawl space and we think they are coming from down there. We had Pest control spray for ants but they are still coming and still getting worse. Please help.

  1. you need to know what type of ant they actually are....some "sugar ants" actually feed on proteins and need specific baits.  Some of the tiny ants are actually made worse with spraying.

you can put a smear of peanut butter and another of jelly on a napkin near the ants and see which food they prefer.  If they prefer the jelly try buying Terro gel bait...if they go for the peanut butter use Combat baits, if you get the discs soak them in water for a second to make the bait more attractive to the foraging ants

  2. Try a mix of half Borax and half icing sugar. Place it where the ants are travelling.

Borax is poison to ants, they will carry to the nest and feed the queen. When the queen dies the ants leave.

  3. clean like not tomorrow. clean all or your cupboards and add a little vinegar water where you notice they seem to colonize.

There might be a sugary residue, due to just our hands having stuff on them when we attempt to eat and put stuff away at the same time.
