Question:

Besides tape, what specific things can I use to fasten cables to the floor edges/perimeters of a room?

I want something that blends in with the walls or floors, holds those cables fastened sturdily, and looks at least clean and professional. Not messy and amateur like tape.

The cables will be running around the edges of the room. I don't want people to trip over them.

Any specific item suggestions?

  1. There are staples available that will fit most, if not all types of cabling used in the home.  You can get these at hardware stores or home centers.  Hope this helps.

  2. u could use those outdoor staplers. that works

  3. any hardware store sells cable clips for this purpose you can get them in any comon color so that will help with the look. Should be able to find them in the electrical department.

  4. Buy some strips of Velcro. Cut them into strips about 1/2 the diameter of the cables. Stick 1 side to the cable & 1 side to the place you want the cables to go. Probably 2" strip every 2' or so should do it. If you don't like that idea, try colored cable tacks. They come in different colors & are not obtrusive.

  5. Velcro (hook and loop)

  6. staples...then paint them

  7. I have put a small blob of hot melt glue down and pressed the cable into it.  If the blob is small enough it can't be seen around the cable. This has the advantage of being fairly easy to apply and remove if necessary.  An alternative would be to use double stick tape in the same discrete manner.  But for a truly professional job I would use the kind of split plastic conduit (1/2" diameter OD)that is available in one of the super home stores we love so much.

  8. I don't know how intensive you want to go but you could hide it all together by hiding it behind the molding.

  9. I have the same problem in my bedroom. I pulled up the edge of the carpet and hid it, and where I wasn't able to do that I used a staple gun and neatly stapled it to the very bottom of the wall. That is about the best solution I could come up with.

  10. they have plastic pieces that look like "c's" that nail/ s***w into the wall or floor board trim (whatever you need to be fastening it to. you can usually get those things at hardware stores like home depot or little stores like that walmart may have it too
