  1. Yes, unless one of your teams was involved in those deals.

  2. Yeah it was. I had hoped that Beane would trade Street, but he didn't.

    d**n.

  3. it wasn't really boring because u never knew if it would really happen or not...and a lot of big name players were dealt (CC, Pudge) so it wasnt really boring

  4. Yes, but only because 2 other 'big" trades (Sabathia and Harden) happened much earlier.

  5. Not at all.

A's gave up 2 pitchers Blanton and Harden

    Sabbathia got traded

    Jason Bay.

    Ivan Rodriguez

man this wasn't a boring trade deadline man

  6. Yes it was a little boring

  7. You know something? i was thinking the same thing i raced home from work to be home a 4pm to see all the trades, and really there wasn't any real blockbuster trades at all.

  8. a little but with all of the trades through the whole season, this was pretty good trade year

    cc sabathia to brewers

    harden to cubs

    blanton to phillies

    rameris to dodgers

    bay to red sox

    blake to dodgers

    griffey to sox

    rhodes to marlins

    pudge to yankees

    nady to yankees

i think this has changed the al east dramatically, sealed the deal for the white sox, made a intersting race in nl central and gave the dodgers a chance in nl west.

The deadline was boring but a good year for trades.

  9. yeah i agree

  10. the thing is the big trades were ALREADY MADE in the last couple of weeks. Guys like sabathia, harden, even pudge were made before the deadline. I wasn't really expecting anything big.

  11. Are you kidding? This trade deadline was huge.

Although I could feel this way because I am a Yankees fan living near Pittsburgh. The Red Sox essentially forfeited playoffs and the Pirates made another stupid move. Those are huge for a person in my position.

Also, I'm still excited with Brian Cashman's moves. Pudge fills a huge hole, Nady is getting his groove on, Marte is going to bolster the bullpen sooner rather than later. We rid ourselves of Farnsworth! That is cause for celebration in itself! LaTroy Hawkins is also gone, and while I'm sure he is a nice guy, he is not a nice pitcher.

Teixeira going to the Angels is important. It sort of went under the radar, but that makes the Angels more terrifying. They are a scary team.

I thought the trade deadline was exciting. My head is pounding. All the Manny rumors, and then Jason Bay was going to Boston, then Tampa, then Boston again. Then the Marlins wanted too much and then the Dodgers wanted back in Manny talks. Meanwhile I was waiting for the Yankees to get Washburn, but the Mariners were stubborn.

Some major trades happened before today, but counting down to 4:00 was tiring.

    I had quite a day.

  12. Yup. I can't believe the Royals didn't ship a reliever somewhere to be honest. Mahay is amazing, and would definitely add some power to a couple contenders bullpens.

Before the deadline though, some decent names got traded. Could have been worse, just a crappy week.
