This flooding in the mountains north of the Tigris & Euphrates (where they originate), resulted in a silt deposit 10' (3.3m) deep being found throughout the Mesopotamian valley, and dating to 7,000 BCE!

Additionally, shellfish found in the mud under the Black Sea, were of an extinct freshwater variety until that date, and of a salt water variety, after that date.

This pretty much isolates both the location, and the time, of this cataclysmic event, which was recorded in the Bible!
