  1. Take a trip to the Hoover Dam and/or Grand Canyon.  Grand Canyon bus trips take an entire day, but you can do a helicopter tour for 2-4 hours for about $200-250 a person.

See the sights on the strip - Bellagio fountains, Treasure Island pirate show, Mirage volcanoes

Ride the rides at Stratosphere (the restaurant at the top is great too), Sahara, NYNY, Circus Circus

Check out the Shark Reef at Mandalay, the Dolphin Habitat & Secret Garden at Mirage, the lions at MGM

I think it's fun just to go inside the casinos and check out the decor - some of them are really amazing, particularly some of the more themed hotels.  The Bellagio also has a gorgeous conservatory, with flowers arranged beautifully.

Maddame Toussaud's Wax Museum is worth a trip too - it's located at the Venetian.  Check out the light show at Fremont Street - it's also cool to see the Old Vegas casinos there as well.

  2. Rides (Roller coasters, 3D rides)

Right outside of Vegas is Hoover Dam, nice view.

But really, if you don't gamble and don't care about the shows, then Vegas isn't really the place for you.

  3. If you rent a car, go check out Hoover Dam. It's about 35 miles from Vegas.

  4. Vegas is beautiful.  Check out old Fremont Street for the light show, Hoover Dam, check out some clubs they are fun in Vegas, Red Rock Canyon, ride the coasters on the strip, The Mirage has the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat and Mandalay Bay has the shark reef.  The fountains at the Bellagio are beautiful.  There is a lot to do.

  5. You might want to look into taking a day trip to the Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam while you're there.  Many Vegas-based companies offer chartered buses that take tour groups to these locations, and you get lunch included on that day.  It's a lot of fun, and a good alternative to gambling.

Also, you might want to check out the shops at the Venetian Hotel and Casino.  They have some very high-end stores, like Prada, Fendi, Coach (I think), etc.  If that's a little out of your budget, you can hit the Fashion Show Mall, which has all the same stores as a regular mall, but it's very beautiful.

Also at the Venetian, they have gondola rides, where actual Italian gondoliers will serenade you as they row you around the hotel's man-made moat.  It's a little hokey, but quite romantic.  Or at Paris Hotel, you can do the Eiffel Tower Experience, where you and your fiance can go up to the top of their Eiffel Tower replica they have there.  They even have a restaurant near the top of the tower, so you can see all the beautiful lights while you have dinner.

Mirage has a white tiger and dolphin habitat that you can go to, which has dolphin shows (like at Sea World) and really adorable baby tigers.  Also at Mirage is a really gorgeous aquarium full of tropical fish.

I don't know if you're into nightclubs, but Vegas is home to a bunch of really great nightspots, like Studio 54 (in MGM Grand), Ghostbar, Rain, etc.  Also, there's a cool little spot decorated to look like Carnaval in Rio De Janeiro, between Harrah's and Imperial Palace, where they have live music and dancing almost every night.

Finally, don't forget to check out the food.  Paris has the best buffet I've ever been to in the world!!  If buffets are not your thing, there are plenty of gourmet restaurants owned by famous chefs like Joel Rubichon, Emeril Lagasse, and Wolfgang Puck in MGM Grand, and a bunch of other fancy restaurants at other hotels.  Have fun!

  6. There is lots of great shopping on the strip, Fashion Show, Caesars' Palace, and Desert Passage.  If your outdoorsy, Red Rock canyon and golf courses.  If you don't mind going far off the strip, Hoover Dam. (40 min drive)  There are also Grand Canyon tours, check with the hotel concierge for availability. You can always relax by the pool, or catch a movie on the strip.

  7. There are actually alot of things to do in Vegas other than gambling. Check out the Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon or ride the roller coaster at New York New York, check out the Mirage Habitat or the Shark Reef and the Bellagio Fountains. Use the links below to check out more stuff, hope these will help!

  8. There's always the hookers, but I don't think that's what you had in mind. Try thr comedy shows and concerts. The restaurants there are incredible, too.

  9. Excalibur is not a upscale hotel, so you are going to want to get out a lot.  There is a free tram from Mandalay bay to Luxor and another I think from Treasure Island to Mirage.  These are crowded.  I suggest you splurge for two Las Vegas Monorail unlimited passes, this frees up the entire strip area for you.  Excalibur is very near MGM which has a double monorail hub.  The Vegas Monorail is not free and is no where near as crowded.  It services the East Side of the Strip.  There are lots of free and cheap things to do such as the Volcano, Pirates show, and lion habitat.  One thing you need to do is have a romantic dinner.  Go to Paris Paris and get a outdoor table to watch the Bellagio Fountain Show, or at Top of the World Restaurant at Stratosphere.  Venetian has the Gondolas which can also be romantic and have just opened a new set of channels to the Palazzo.  Madamn Tussaud's Wax Museum is a winner and you will want to take your camera.  Mostly, just spend lots of time online planning your trip and when you get your room try to get one that has a view and some space near the elevator.  The better you enjoy your room in vegas the more you will be refreshed and enjoy your vacation.  Below are a few sites to help.  Also, take the Deuce to Freemont for a taste of "Old Vegas"
