  1. Finding out they used steroids, or cheated in any way!

  2. Big ego, trouble with the law, poor behaviour (a crotch grab, giving the finger to the fans), steroids (I had always really like Rafael Palmeiro...), lack of humility and appreciation for how lucky he is to be paid gazillions to play a game.

  3. If I found out Posada took steroids, I would be devastated and I don't think I'd be able to consider him as my favorite player anymore. Also, if I met him and he was really nasty to me, he would no loner be my favorite player.

  4. When they act like they don't owe anything to their fans. or act like a jerk outside the field.

  5. uhmm .. u found out they have herpes .. now i dont fantasize about derek jeter like i use to

  6. If they took steroids or was a really mean person.

    Good question.

  7. Actually, if a favorite player gets traded, I still root for them, although I don't usually root for their new team, I still want to see the player do well individually (unless they're traded to the yankees, see #10 below).

Here are some reasons why someone could lose their status as one of my favorite players, (in no particular order):

    1. they get in legal trouble.

    2. they sell out and do advertisements for crappy products

    3. they do something selfish like holding out for more money even though they are still under contract, or demanding to be traded because they want to play for a winning team

    4. they stop playing hard after signing a big contract

    5. they publically insult their team, the coaches, their fellow players, or the fans

    6. they become a distraction to the team by seeking personal glory

    7. they are at the center of a steriods controversy

    8. they create a distraction to the team by having a personal scandal such as an affair or divorce

    9. they say they want to stay with a certain team because they love the team and its not about the money, then they sign the first big offer they get with another team

    10. They get traded to or sign with the yankees.

  8. When they diss their former team, and leave because of more money

  9. Being Stuck-up and cocky.

  10. Seeing Roger Clemens turn out to be a huge liar.  When we was faced with overwhelming evidence about taking banned substances he denied using even more violently and he was reduced to the only thing he ever was, a cheating dumb jock.  If he would have said he was sorry from the start and asked for forgiveness I would have forgiven him.  It's not that he cheated that upsets me, I can understand why he would.  I don't understand all the pigheaded lying!

  11. If they cause trouble in the clubhouse or don't play to their full potential.

  12. They act like divas

  13. Trying to get their autograph at a game and they said to p**s off or were a jerk about it.

  14. Now days there are alot of reasons.Drugs,Womanizing,Killing their wife,Using enhancers, telling fans off,Not trying,Holding out on a deal they already made and dog fighting.I am a fan of a good player.Icant say I have just one favorite player but that I like alot of different performers. It seems now days more than ever I get disappointed in somebody. This includes as low as high school sports.

  15. The reasons i wouldn't like a player would be if they did steroids, were a jerk to their teammates and fans, held out for a bunch of money, acted classless towards other teams or their teammates, in basketball they were a ball hog and wouldn't pass to anyone, or if they broke the law.

  16. How they acted off the field. If they acted like manny ramirez.

  17. Well if Jason Varitek started passing out drugs to teenagers, abusing kids & animals and doing steroids himself then writing a book about it like Canseco...

I might have to find a new favorite player.

  18. ~Steroids.  I'd still like them deep down, but I'd be disappointed and he wouldn't be my FAVORITE anymore.

~Dissing their teammates, team, or fans.  I'd look upon him with contempt.

~Broke the law in any way, anything from DUI to first degree murder.  Yeah, I'd have to say murder would really turn me off of a favorite player.

~Acted like a prima donna.  Like *cough Arod* or *cough Manny*

~Didn't play hard everyday and faked sore knees.  Sorry, I used to sort of like Manny before that, but afterwards it was hard to.

However, I feel like it's safe to say Michael Young and Ian Kinsler will never do any of these things.

  19. -Violating the Substance Abuse Policy

-Saying and wrongful remarks to the media about anyone

-Fighting with other teammates in his own clubhouse

-and my number 1 reason, asking to be traded.

  20. Testing positive for steroids or just caring about money instead of enjoying the game

  21. If they were caught in any of the scandals that baseball is involved in right now.  I expect my favorite player to conduct himself proper and be a ballplayer and not follow everyone else.  RR

  22. Finding out his most amazing seasons were a product of steroids! And not only that, but he tried to get fellow team mates to use them.

  23. Finding out he's a cheater...but I don't think it's an issue with Jr. :)

  24. them getting in trouble with the law

  25. Saying something bad about the team.

  26. roids and if they get selfish.......BUT if they produce on the field i can let a lot of thing go, sometimes is fun to see ur fave player be a jerk...
