...That would make you NOT be a fan of them anymore?

Most of the time people say that they would only stop being a fan of their team if they moved...so I'm just wondering if there's anything ELSE that would make you stop being a fan of your team.

  1. I would stop being a fan if the players on my favorite team consisted of "bad" guys or people known for being jerks.  There is no point in rooting for a team with the worst possible people on it.  If that happened it would be more like rooting for the name of the team and not the actual people on it.

  2. i can't think of anything.  i don't even know what i would do if the yanks moved.  it's kinda like a family member dying.  i just don't think about it ever happening.  the yankees are a new york team and they would never belong anywhere else.  a big city for a big team.

  3. NO.  And even if they moved, I would still love the Phils.  Maybe I wouldn't get to watch all of their games, but I would still love them.  It's all about a little thing called loyalty.

  4. Having an idiot like Billy Beane in the constant "rebuilding" mode, even though there are players who are not close to their free agent season who have said they wanted to stay who fit into the A's scheme. Beane is an idiot and I, an A's fan my whole life, refuse to follow the team as long as he is the GM.

I can't stand the morons who say "he's getting prospects." These people seem to forget that's been the rallying cry the last decade. He gets more prospects for great players, then when they become great players, he trades them for more prospects and the same idiots repeat "he's got great prospects!" They fail to acknowledge Beane has made the A's the minor league team for the rest of the 29 MLB teams. It never ends.

  5. i'd still be a fan even if they moved

    well,

    1. if EVERY single guy on the team took steroids.. or if they promoted drug abuse

    2. if they threw games/WS games

    3. if i found out that majority of the club was planning to threaten me and my family

but i don't see any of that happening so its all good!!

  6. your team getting a player you hate or trading your favorite player/players

  7. Good question. I'm guessing if the team's owner was a card-carrying member of the KKK. Much as I love the Yankees, if it was true that the Yankee ownership was full of Klansmen or Neo-n***s, I'd drop them like a bad habit.

Other than that, the only thing that would force me to drop my fanship would be if they moved. The Yankees leaving New York City would be one of the most painful days of my life.

  8. no

  9. Not really you already know I'm a Yankee Fan in California and i still love my Yankees, something that would make not be fan of them is  running a Gambling on the games they played kind of thing and if they were throwing away games or the WS for that matter

  10. signing barry bonds

  11. If They Threw A Word Series

  12. Well, I'm a fan of the Detroit Tigers.  Something that would stop me from being a fan is if Jim Leland sat on the bench all the time&if they put Jim Leland in left field.  He deserves 1st Base!   He's a really good batter.  Go #10~

Another thing is if they traded Granderson!!!

    :-)

  13. No, I know this is not the basketball section but one of my favorite teams [the Sonics] relocated this year.  It was horrible.  I can't believe we don't have a basketball team anymore.

I knew they [the new ownership] were cutting ties with anyone who had anything to do with Seattle, trading our favorite players for expiring contracts, accumulating draft picks as part of their big plan for when they finally made it to Oklahoma City, alienating the fans, and just being all around ******* the entire time they were here...This was like the worst scenario, and I still loved that team.

I think I could survive Ichiro and maybe Felix being traded--I hope not!--Losing a fav team puts things into perspective.

  14. im a fan of the Raiders. and i wouldnt mind if they came back  to LA. but no not really anything can changemy mind on them.

  15. well for all my life ive been a packers fan actually. but with the way theyve been treating brett favre, i was like o f*** them so now im a lions fan. because i realized the principles the packers fans have and green bays front office is c**p

  16. I really can't think of anything that would make me stop being a Yankee fan. They have been such a huge part of my life for so long now that it would have to be something VERY big. I wouldn't even stop being a fan if they moved. I wouldn't like it but it wouldn't cause me to stop being a fan.

  17. I would still support the said team

  18. Nope. Nothing would stop making me be a fan. Even if my team was in last place and the worst team, I would still be a fan and cheer them off. Nothing would make me not a fan anymore. =]

  19. Well with the Bucs (football) I'm sort of a fan. I was not too happy with the Dungy firing. I am not too enthused with the Glazer clan. I absolutely despise Jon Gruden. So you can say it's love-hate. I don't think anything would make me not be a fan of any of my favorite teams though. Because one one or two bad apples don't spoil the bunch for me.

  20. If they were to sign Barry Bonds

  21. The Rockies trading Holliday, Atkins, and Hawpe.

And the Giants trading Lincecum and Molina.

  22. i would still be a fan even if my team moved:D

  23. Yeah, if they signed Bonds!

  24. yes saying that they hate mexicans LOL

  25. I have to agree with A-Rod's Bro, I would temporarily boycott  the Dodgers if they signed Barry Bonds. I wouldn’t stop being a fan of the Dodgers, but something would have to give.

  26. Nope, nothing.  Unless I stopped being a baseball fan, that would be the only way possible.

  27. I think that if my team disappointed me year after year I would have to cheer for another team.  If every year my team was supposed to win the World Series and they never did, I would be really upset.  Maybe I need to not be a Cubs fan anymore.  If they don't make the World Series this year I don't know if they ever will.

  28. Probably if one of the players shot me down somehow. But really if I moved, I wouldn't be chained to my hometown team.

  29. Your favorite player quit/was traded.

The team started to lose alot.

You were lonely being the only fan of the team.

    The team didn't work together.

The team promoted some type of abuse/drug use.

    The team didn't like you.

  30. Well.....hmmmm......maybe......possibly.... a certain way......sort of if they......

Actually i cant think of anything besides that....there are many things that would make me less of a fan but nothing that would make me NOT a fan
