Best, fastest, most powerful, 125cc scooter???

Question

I have a budget of £1000 max and want the fastest, most powerful scooter for my money.

I love the aprilla sr125 but they are hard to find.

Any experts out there can suggest some similar alternatives please?

Must be good to get up a steep ish hill so bare that in mind.......

Gillera GX 125cc then you get the 210cc big bore kit upgrade the rollers to mallossi quickgear and hold on tight ive done a few of these for the lads and they will cruise at 100MPH easily oh and the front end will lift up so be careful you will need to de restrict the exhaust too but its easily done good luck

Any of the Piaggio/Gilera 125s will give the full 11kW (14.6 hp), and once you have taken your test can be de-restricted to give a bit more.  For your money you can currently get a 2004 VX125 or 2001 X9 125.  I think the Gilera weighs a little less than the X9 (it has exactly the same engine) so should go a little faster up hills.

Looking at your additional information I would definitely recommend the Gilera Runner 180.  I weigh 22 stone and 0-30 the scoot was faster than anything on 4 wheels and would take me to an indicated 80 on the motorway,  If you are a normal size a ton is realistic so you wont be holding up traffic.

In the U.K. all 125cc scooters are restricted to 12bhp.

They all have a top speed of around 60-70mph.

If you want fast and powerful, you will need to buy a motorcycle and not a scooter.
