Best 11 in the season 2010-2011; Spanish La Liga - Part 3
Xabi Alonso
If we follow a 4-3-3 formation for the team, with a single holding midfielder in the squad, then that particular holding midfielder is definitely going to be Xabi Alonso. The former Liverpool man joined Real Madrid last season to help them win trophies.
Even though he was unfortunate with the trophies, he still managed to impress the fans with his great through and long balls. Not only can he pass the ball fabulously, in fact, he is also a good free-kick taker; but with players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka in your team, you can expect less free kicks as the Portuguese player, Ronaldo, is the best free-kick taker in the world, at the moment.
Xabi Alonso was also the holding midfielder for the Spanish team as they were crowned champions in South Africa. This year round, Real Madrid have a new coach, Jose Mourinho, and he has bought a few new players to help his team pick the trophy. Xabi Alonso and the new singing Sami Khedira, are definitely going to be in a competition as they both are defensive midfielders. The Spaniard is going to be wearing the number 4 jersey for the best Spanish La Liga team.
Xavi Hernandez
The Barcelona centre-midfielder, Xavi Hernandez, is definitely the best central midfielder in the world. The way he passes the ball from the defensive walls of his opponents is just breathtaking.
Xavi Hernandez is not a powerful player and he is not even seen running with the ball too much, but he has this skill to move the ball around the field with his quick passing technique. He rarely possesses the ball and just passes it on to make the best moves of the game. He is definitely the best man for the job as he has helped his forward line score many goals. He was also included in the first team of Spain as he is “obviously,” the best.
Xavi Hernandez, just like his club team-mate Carlos Puyol, has won every trophy that is available to him. He was also a part of Barcelona’s amazing 6-trophies-season in 2008 and 2009. He was also a part of the European Championship that Spain won in 2008 and he was also in the team that won the FIFA World Cup 2010’s final match against Netherlands. Xavi Hernandez was able to make a record during the FIFA World Cup as he was named “the player who completed most number of passes in the history of the FIFA World Cups!” Xavi Hernandez is going to wear the Number 8 jersey for the best Spanish La Liga team.
Andres Iniesta
Even though Iniesta does not “talk much,” and looks to be shy, he just never fails to deliver for his team. He has been useful for the club and for his country when the team was going through a tough time as he is one of those players who do not come under pressure, what-so-ever.
Andres Iniesta, along with Xavi Hernandez and the Argentinean magician Lionel Messi, was named as one of the best midfielders in the world. He can dribble the ball really well and can threaten the opponent’s defence and can also give amazing through balls to his team-mates. He is currently a part of the Spanish club Barcelona and was also in the first team of Spain.
As mentioned before, he is the man who can come in handy when the team is going through crucial situations. He was the player who was able to score a last-second goal for Barcelona as they were able to draw the match against Chelsea to make it to the final of the UEFA Champions League. Not only he was able to score there, he was also the player who scored the only goal for the Spaniards in the FIFA World Cup final. It was because of him that the Spaniards won the tournament and were crowned champions. The amazing attacking midfielder is going to be numbered 6 in the best Spanish La Liga team.
