Best 600cc bike out of these four for beginner?

For a beginner rider what would you guys suggest out of these four bikes that I have narrowed it down to?

-Honda 600RR

-Yamaha R6(R6S)

-Suzuki GSXR 600

-Kawasaki ZX-6R

I don't need suggestions for any other bikes because I've done my research. I just want a general opinion. Possibly rate the bike of your choices' handling, speed, comfort, etc. on a scale from 1 to 10?

Thanks!

  1. Get real. Pick a bike based on something you're capable of evaluating. Find one that you like looking at and sitting on. The individual handling and performance characteristics are meaningless for comparison. Your riding skills count for 100 times more than the bike's performance and handling.

    - riding 22 years.

    - certified MSF instructor

  2. Yamaha FZ6

you can't afford the insurance on the crotch rockets you listed

  3. the honda 600rr. i have an 06 600rr and it is "easier" to handle than the others. they seem to be more forgiving to mistakes and adjustments when you're in on a turn. the gsxr600 is a nice bike if you're shorter as it sits the lowest out of the 600s and you'll feel more comfortable.

Handling: i think the CBR is easier to handle as stated above

Speed: moot point. they're all FAST

Comfort: you've gotta hop on each yourself. too many variables. go down to your local dealers and sit on em. have a friend or sales guy hold it upright while you crouch in a riding position.

basically, get something you really like and feel comfortable on. The 600s all perform about the same.

  4. Pick up a early 90s Yamaha FZR 600,  power to weight is great.  Nicely used around 2500.00.  Insurance is cheep, you'll have a blast!!!  Just take a safety course, best thing I ever did......

  5. I personally like the GSXR. Better at taking crashes, which would be helpful to you. Get frame sliders they are a must. Respect the bike it has more power then you will ever be able to handle. Put about 10k miles on it before you say "Guy watch what I can do". Wear real armor road rash sucks big balls. Hopefully you've at least ridden before. I had been riding about ten years before I bought my GSXR and I loved it until a lady pulled out in front of me and sent me flying down the street. Then I got an R1 three years later I rode it for 2 years before a Benz pulled out in front of me and clipped me I slid about a block down the street. I was out of work for 3 months. I will always get back on but are you ready to pay that price? Respect the bike and the road, they both bite back if your not careful.
