So this summer I want to go visit my best friend who lives in washington, kirkland. I live in California, and I'll be going to LAX airport, I'll probably be arriving in SEA Seattle airport in washington. But I'm only 17, and my mom said if i can find a reasonable price, should would let me go. And I want to go see my best friend, we miss each other, I mean we're like sisters, know each other since elementary. So you can see how important this is for me to go and I was wondering if any of you helpful people out there could help me find or give me some good airlines to search. I'm planninng on going friday, july 25 and coming back aug. 8, im searching for a non-stop flight. Now I'm wondering is there a difference in price if i go on a weekend instead of a week.?

  1. I would try the student discount sites for some really good deals. Also certain carriers offer student discounts or at least if you are under 23, i know that AirTran & Southwest have similar programs. As a college student myself I swear by the STA travel site, you can find some really awesome deals.

Also as a side note, with the rising costs of gas/jet fuel I have found that Amtrak has deeply discounted their rates. If you have a student advantage or ISIC card you can get like a 30% discount. Also the ISIC card is accepted with the STA travel booking too....its a really good investment for like only 20$...I would totally check out all options if you are looking to save money!

    Good Luck!

  2. This has been a popular topic this week! Yes, the day usually does matter. Try to fly on a Tuesday or Wednesday, as fares tend to creep up on and near the weekends.

There are two sites I recommend:

    www.kayak.com

    and

    www.farecompare.com

Try to search for nearby airports as well. You will be surprised as to how many airports you can actually choose from that are close to where you live. Searching for alternate airports often yields cheaper fares. At kayak.com, check the "Search Nearby Airports" option, and on FareCompare.com, after searching for a flight, click the "Your Additional Options" link, and then select "Add Alternate Cities."

Both of these sites search many, many airlines on the dates you specify to get you the best price. They offer the option of making searches with other partner companies as well, but that is optional. These sites search all airlines, not just one or two.

    Happy flying!

  3. The best airline i can recommend is Virgin America.

I have flew from LAX to SFO and it's incredible their good attention; and if you go on board in a "Wednesday SuperFly" flight you have the cool feacture of the seat-to-seat chatroom. ( See website to check which flights are in this feacture)

You can order food at any time for a couple bucks. The mood lighting is cool ..i have never seen that in other airlines. The staff is really nice with you! But i dont know how the prices are right away. You can find a good deal with them, if you keep tracking prices daily.

TIP: if you book tuesday or wednesday tickets are cheaper

I just checked it and they have some summer special LAX - DC $149. I have no idea if it's a good deal cuz never have flew to DC, but the airline has really good service.

  4. i think the cheapest is the best

  5. Try Alaska Airlines, http://www.alaskaair.com/ they often have very good prices from Ca. to Seattle, also give http://www.cheaptickets.com/ a look, you might also consider leaving on a day other than a Friday, a day when fares are often higher, good luck.

  6. Many airlines fly direct from LAX-SEA. Prices are typically cheaper if you travel in middle of the week, not on a Sunday or Friday. Check out travelocity.com, kayak.com, sidestep.com, and priceline for cheap tickets. The sooner you buy them, the best deal you'll be able to find!

  7. For any travel related need Try http://www.cheap-airline-airfare.com , here you can search more than 150 discount travel in one place

  8. kayak.com cheap > all

  9. There are several airlines that offer non-stop flight service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Seattle (SEA). Some of the following include Alaska Airlines, Continental Airlines, Virgin America, and United Airlines. It is best to input your requested dates and times into the four airlines and perhaps jot down prices on a piece of paper and find which is the most cheapest, reasonable, and best for you and your accomodations.
