Looking for a aggressive A/T tire for a 1/2 ton Dodge Ram i will be using the Tire mainly on the road ,snow, and possible off road (once a month at most) i have been looking at the BFG A/T , Firestone A/T and some cheaper brands at a local tire shop (Hercules terra tr-ac i think) the size will be 33 inches tall by 11.5 inches wide, which do you think will perform best in these conditions, and still be a reasonable price, is there a different brand of tire you have had experience with? your advice would be Great... Thank you

  1. BFG A/T , Firestone A/T would be a better choice in any tire... sure they are many to pick from.... cheaper is just that cheap and you will not get as many miles from them so really costing you money buying them more offen

  2. Have a 05 1500 swb reg cab 2x4 V6 auto with 3"lift front 2500 lb spring pack rear > Tires are 285 17> BFG AT/ KO stock rims great tires> \Wear very good> My 3500 swb $X$ diesel with 315 BFG AT/KO have 30,000 and are 3/4 tread>Very little noise and very smooth at cruising speed>Don't forget if $X$ you need the 5th tire for a spare> Or you will destroy the front & rear end>

  3. Go to a real tire store and ask the sales person what other brands of tires manufactures make. I have had excellent experience with Mastercraft Courser tires. These are the off brand of the Cooper Discoverer line. They have the same tread and warranty as the Discoverer for a lot less $$. I just put a new set of Courser M/T's on one of my trucks. The last set went almost 60,000 miles which is excellent for a mud tire. The tread wear warranty was up at 40,000. I know also that Goodyear has an off brand called Republic Trail Mark. A friend has them on his truck. They are the same thing as Goodyear Wrangler's. Wal-mart's Liberators are made by Uniroyal and were decent tires until they changed the tread pattern on them. They put the Uniroyal name on them at the same time. All the tire manufacturers make generic brands that are actually the same as their name brand tires with just a different name on them. That's why you should go to a real tire store and talk to them. The sales persons job is to sell you the name brand tires, but, they won't tell you to take your money somewhere else just because you are smart enough not to pay for a name.

  4. i got the same tires your thinking about getting the bfg, a/t and the only grip i got against those is they sing at certain speeds, other than that they have lasted real good and get really good grip, mine are 33-10-50,s just a little smaller than yours will be but you,ll like the way they do grab, their excellent in snow and mud also, good luck.

  5. BFG A/T''s are good. I had Liberator All Terrains from Walmart on my Bronco and liked them.

  6. Try www.tirerack.com for price and for aggreive try kumo, toyo mud terrains bfg muds are ok.

  7. Firestone Destination M/T. Their designed specially for off roading use only. But All Terrain I would go with Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos. There the most agressive all terrain tire tire they make
