Question

Right now, I was just answering some questions in trivia, and I found five questions by the same avatar.

Almost all of them have the same user as answering first or just answering, and the asker has lost 40 points asking questions. Is there something suspicious?

Very suspicious. What is more suspicious is how you have this much time on your hands.

I reported "L" this morning.  Having  had a one-word answer duplicated an hour later, and having the later, identical answer given "Best," I looked at the asker's profile.  Each and every one of 15 questions (and there were only questions) was awarded to "L."  Intrigued, I looked further and found no less than 9 other askers with exactly the same profile.

Having taken the trouble, as many other answerers have to answer these "planted" questions in good faith, I am devoted to stopping this vandalization of the site.  Thanks for making this public!

I thought I was the only one to notice such things. There seems to be something untoward happening.

I found something similar several months ago. The same people asked and answered the same questions, word for word. They awarded each other best answer despite the fact that both their questions and answers were almost nonsensical.

I answered some of their questions but it seemed pointless. The last I heard of them was when I added to my answer by saying what I had noticed. Haven't heard or seen any activity from them since.

Have you noticed the similarities in the questions about being a teenager who is wanting to earn money online? Same question over and over. Almost identical responses. Could be that some are using more than one name to ask and to answer, or somehow these answerers know each other. Odd. Coincidence?

The object seems to be gaining points.

Is that what being on Yahoo Answers means?
