Ok so could I get faster by just strenghing my legs without running like i just work my legs out but I dont run. But could I get faster like that?

  1. It is probably not the smartest training decision for running but do stretches for your hips, hamstrings, and quads so you can keep running range and not tighten up because muscle doesn't necessary mean speed. Of course do the regular calf stretches and stretch anything that hurts.


  2. yes you can :) doing stretches everyday helps... and workouts for your legs... look for hamstring, thigh flexor, abductor, adductor and quad workouts... doing explosive jumps, high knees amd heel flicks may also help... gl

  3. first answer pretty much says it all. (:

    however i can give you some speciffic ones.

    get into a squating position and then from that position jump into the air as high as you can. do this as many times possible for 1 minute.

    grab small weights, say 3-5 pounds and do lunges. lunge forward with one leg and then stand. then lung other leg. and so on. do sets of 25. thats what i did at physical therapy.

    with or without weight lunge to the side. then stand. then lunge to the other side. you should be in a squating position basically when lunging to the side.

    on top of this do running technique drills. i forget the actual name.

    these are:

    butt-kickers

    high knees

    walking lunges

    grape vine

    quick feet
