Best Baby Gate for Wide walkway? That doesn't need to be drilled into walls?

Question

Every gate i looked at comes with assembly hardware, which i'm guessing are screws and etc, that would go INTO the wall. This is for my mother's house when my 16 month old plays there and she doesn't want ANY holes in her walls. The gate would go on top of the stairs, there's only 3 in of wall on the same level of the stairs, then the walls stretch out, it's a walkway basically. HELP!!!

( just a standard hallway, i don't think it's extra wide )

then you really do want a wall mounted gate.

We use the Safety 1st lift and lock security gate. It comes with hardware,  but it's optional. We use ours without it. Just be careful upstairs. Make sure the baby can't push the gate down. If it's not mounted it's always a possibility. We use ours at the bottom of the stairs.
