  1. I have 8 dutch rabbits and love them. they take a minimal amount of handling to tame.

  2. NETHERLANDS DWARF!

Please spend time with him/her this time though :/ in a cage or alone will make them unhappy.

I have have 2 netherland dwarfs, and I once had an English Lop.

Pros: Quiet, VERY active and playful, less biting, healthy.

Cons: p**p a lot, have to be careful with what you feed them, needs very cold air.

  3. 7 is a lot for pet rabbits-are you sure you have time for another one? I have a lot, but I also breed and show and I spent a lot of time out in the barn every day. Also, keep in mind that any rabbit of any breed can be mean.

    Here are some thoughts:

    1. French Angora 2. Giant Angora 8. American Fuzzy Lop 9. Lionhead: All four of these breeds are 'wooled' breeds, meaning instead of normal rabbit fur they have wool. Wool needs almost CONSTANT attention-so think about if you have the time to brush out your wooled rabbit every day-it takes 15 minutes to an hour, sometimes. In addition, Giant and French Angoras are fairly uncommon, and you may have trouble finding them.

    3. American Giant-there is no such breed. You're either thinking of the Flemish Giant, which is absolutely huge, or the American, which is a rare and very hard to find commercial breed. I have little to no personal experience with either of them.

    4. Harlequin 5. Lilac 12. Belgian Hare 14. Checkered Giant-these breeds are all rare/uncommon and may be hard to find in your area.

    10. Tan 12. Belgian Hare 14. Checkered Giant: these are all running breeds. They are very active and very intelligent. They need additional exercise and something to keep them busy to be really happy.

Breeds I have personal experience with:

    8. American Fuzzy Lops-the Lops I used to own were all fairly agreeable bunnies. My doe was especially sweet. They are a LOT of work to keep groomed though, especially when they are young.

    9. Lionheads-I'm sure others will say differently, but I've never met a Lionhead that wasn't nasty. In addition there is a lot of talk among the ARBA membership about if they will ever be accepted as a breed...personally I don't think they will be.

    10. Tan-I am VERY familiar with Tans, since I've been raising them for eight years. As I said above, VERY active and very intelligent. These are not rabbits that want to cuddle with you, but they are a lot of fun to watch and full of personality. You need to make sure you can spend some extra time just letting a Tan run, they love it.

    11. Silver Marten-Most of the Martens I've known have been good bunnies.

    12. Belgian Hare-I love the way this breed looks, but because of their size and build they need special housing (big tall cage, wire floors aren't recommended, etc). They can be fragile, prone to leg and back injuries.

    13. Netherland Dwarf-a sweet Netherland is VERY sweet, but a not so sweet Netherland is very not sweet. I don't even own them, but I've been bitten by more Netherlands than any other breed. I think of them as the Chihuahuas of the rabbit world. The good ones are great, but there are a lot of nippy neurotic ones out there.

    14. Checkered Giant-As I said above, a running breed and HUGE. They need special housing and a lot of space to move around. Some are aggressive, but not all. Fun to look at, but not a rabbit I want to own.

  4. I have a lionhead and I love him.

  5. I would narrow it down to

Holland Lop, and Lionhead. Also consider a dutch, or mini rex, these have very gentle sweet natured personalities. Netherlands are cute, but terrible, tempered!

I've Owned A Holland, he was sweet and gentle, I've owned 2 dutches, my last one was sweet, and loving, my new one is very curious, and gentle.

I've owned, 2 mini Rex's, one tamed up for the most part, the other had to be taken back, for bad biting habits.

I've owned 3 cross breeds, I'm not sure what exactly they were, I had them when I was 7.

I highly reccomend, a Dutch bunny!

  6. Holland Lops are the most gentle of all the breeds I have had exposure with.

  7. yay!

    i have 5 rabbits...

1.neatherland dwarf-he is super sweet but they can squeeze into lots of tiny spaces.

2.english spot-she is sweet to,i've had her since she was born and she was the easiest to train.

3-mix between 1 & 2- ehh he is 2 weeks old so hard to tell what hes like yet.

4.harlequin-this breed tends to be very jumpy and hard to train...i cant stand her.

5.holland lop-he is my calmest rabbit i think he is definatly a good breed to choose from.

well whatever breed you decide to get i hope the best for you but i really suggest a neatherland dwarf or holland lop.
