  1. Best breakfasts...

First, here's the best "greasy spoon" diner fare...  The sort of dive bar equivalent of breakfast (and one doubles as a dive bar!).

The 5-Point Cafe is located at the corner of 5th and Cedar, basically where 5th and Denny (and Cedar) intersect under the Monorail.  This place has phenomenal chicken fried steaks w/ country gravy!!  For breakfast, get it with the eggs (instead of mashed) and you'll have a hearty and delicious, HUGE breakfast!  Great omelettes here as well and other food for a breakfast lover!

Beth's Cafe is always noted, not because it has the best food in the world, but for their 12-egg omelette.  It's big, it's got tons of hashed browns, it's expensive.  But it's worth sharing or their more modest omelettes offer up a good treat.  The all-you-can-eat hashbrowns that come with are a plus!  A lot of the atmosphere has changed here since Seattle went non-smoking (not to promote smoking, but it's just become so much brighter and less populated), but it's still fun!  Oh yeah, this is on Aurora and about 65th, at the first light north of the Aurora Bridge.

Both of those places are 24-hour to appease your all-night cravings or after-club hunger pangs!

The Original Pancake House in Kirkland at the Parkplace Mall is fantastic!  The food here is phenomenal!  It's real breakfast food and only serves breakfast (and closes around 1pm).  The bacon is thick and delicious!  The omelettes are oven-baked, large and fluffy as a result.  Delish!  The pancakes are great!  The Dutch Baby?  Wow!  Really good!  I love this place!  It can get really packed here around 10, especially on the weekends.  Plan on a line!

Black Bear Cafe is relatively new to the Seattle area and is in Bellevue (I think it's technically Redmond) at the corner of 148th and 24th, across the street from Sears.  It used to be another cafe in this location, Coco's, I think?  This place has great breakfast offerings and has a home-cooked quality to all of their foods.  The food is great and I've already been here a number of times since it's been there, even though I don't live or work near here!  It's def worth checking out and I believe they serve breakfast all day, though they have lunch and dinner entrees as well!

Oh yeah, 13 Coins is 24-hour and serves pretty good breakfasts.  It's a nice place for a 24-hour place and has pretty good food!

  2. I can tell you the three BEST breakfast spots in Seattle:

Glo's - A tiny hole in the wall that's been in Seattle forever. The best eggs Benedict in the world with house made hollandaise. Great prices. Come early!

    1621 E Olive Way

    Seattle, WA 98102

    (206) 324-2577

Portage Bay Cafe- All local natural and organic food! The restaurant includes a "breakfast bar" which features fresh fruit, real maple syrup, whipped butter and house made whipped cream to top your pancakes and french toast. They also feature amazing egg dishes and plenty of vegetarian choices.

    4130 Roosevelt Way NE .

    Seattle, WA 98105

    206.547.8230

Coastal Kitchen- More fresh breakfast items featuring my favorite biscuits and sausage gravy. MMMM. They also feature a seasonal menu with flavors from a region around the world. Right now they are featuring Peru.

  3. Mm, yes, the 5 point.  Delish.  Beth's never did much for me.  But Minnie's in Queen Anne (also 24 hrs) is pretty good, and the 5 SPOT (not point.  It's on top of Queen Anne) has AMAZING breakfast.

  4. Maximilien Bistro in Pike Place Market.  Beautiful view, not too expensive, and by far the best omelette I have ever had.

  5. I'm not a morning person but I really like Honeyhole Sandwiches on Pike St. I'm not really in seattle too much but check out this website with reviews of the top ten http://seattle.citysearch.com/bestof/win...

  6. You can get a room at the Eighth Avenue Inn, which is nice hotel in downtown Seattle. http://www.EighthAvenueInn.com Hotel rooms are under $80 per night, free continental breakfast

  7. I would second 13 Coins. Also you might want to look at The Alki Cafe in West Seattle. The Sunbreak Cafe in Auburn, The Black Diamond Bakery in Black Diamond and Wild Wheat in Kent are great places a little south of Seattle.

  8. Okay, I know just the place! It's Peso's in lower Queen Anne on Queen Anne Ave just off Mercer.  Every week day between 9am (they open at 9) and 11am basically every breakfast on the menu is $6.  It is so good that a line actually starts to form out front even before it opens.  Seriously, try it!
