  4. Actually the Elliptical machines are over-rated. It is a non-impact machine that doesn't help improve your muscular endurance a whole lot because you're not using the push/pull of gravity to move your body as a whole. You are just gliding on air. If you despise running try shadowboxing, jump roping, bicycle riding, swimming, or walking up at steep incline at a fast pace. The steep incline will increase your heart rate, work your cardio and muscle strength all at the same time.
