  1. There are three that I would like to tell you about:

    1) Flower Drum (Market Lane, Melbourne)

One of the best restaurants in Melbourne and one of the best Cantonese style Chinese restaurants in the entire world! Expensive, but worth every cent. Everyone should go to this restaurant at least once in their lifetime. Difficult to get a booking due to popularity.

    2) East Empress (Springvale Road, Glen Waverley)

A wonderful 'suburban' Cantonese style Chinese restaurant. A large moderately priced menu. Friendly fast-paced service. The cuisine is consistent and delicious. The owner-operators are a lovely husband and wife team.

    3) Lau's Family Kitchen (Acland Street, St. Kilda)

Owned and operated by Gilbert Lau (former owner and operator of The Flower Drum). Inner-city 'cafe style'. A small cheap/moderately priced menu. Friendly fast-paced service. Difficult to get a booking due to popularity.

  2. The Chinese resto at Crown in the city is apparently really good. Ive heard nothing but good reviews. :)
