Best Cities in Mexico?

Question

I am planning a Mexico trip in May, and I want to know which city will be most enjoyable for a group of 20-somethings. We are looking for great nightclubs,and beautiful beaches. I have heard some of the beaches are horrible with harsh sand and unswimmable waters.

Please help.

You'd probably enjoy Cancun a lot. Seems like you're more for going to night clubs than doing ecotourism or just being in a quiet beach city like Manzanillo anyways.

You don't even need to really learn any spanish to enjoy Cancun either.

Yeah, some beaches aren't very good to swim in. It's dangerous to swim in the ocean in Acapulco for instance.

If you want to go to a good beach it should definitely be Can cun area. it can either be on can cun or you can go to playa del carmen, which is 1 hr. trip from can cun by bus, there is a great nightlife and it connects also to Cozumel island, which also has good nightlife and activities.

That is the place you are looking for.

From there you can visit all the riviera Maya (Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres, Tulum, Xcaret, and others; all within 1 hrs dirving at most); and also the mayan ruins (Chichen Itzá, Cobá, and others). The night life is great, the beach (caribean sea) is great.
