I've been watching the travel channel, and so far I think that Disney Cruises seem like so much fun, but which do you like better?

  1. I haven't been on Disney, only carnival and royal caribbean. Out of those two I like royal caribbean. They offer a lot on board and they are fairly inexpensive.

  2. Disney ONLY if you want young kids.

Princess is great then, RCCL, NLC ...

  3. In my opinion, I think Disney Cruises are the best cruise line.. but then again, thats my opinion.. I've never been on a cruise.. but they look really fun, i'd like to go on one, me and my family might be going on an island(carribean) cruise at the end of august.

  4. I go with rccl. When you become a Diamond member you get many benefits, the best is free drinks from 5-8pm on most of the bigger ships.

  5. Royal Carribean is the best. I've been twice, one on Sovereign and the other on Vision. Royal Carribean is very family friendly and now they are partnering with nickelodeon. All staff are very nice. I love the towel animals they make in our room. The dining experience is 5 stars with great food and service. There are so many ativities goin on.

  6. "Best" is a matter of opinion and a matter of what you are looking for.  Each cruise line - and even different ships within a line - has its advantages and short-comings.

I'd suggest you get a book on cruising from the library so that you can get a general idea of which lines offer what.

Disney is supposed to be a good cruise line, especially for kids, but it is also fairly expensive because they only have two ships and because it is Disney.  Carnival is much more reasonably priced and is usually a good first cruise.  Princess  and Celebrity are a bit "classier" without being much more expensive, if at all.  Holland is very subdued and very classy and tends to have older clientele, although they are aiming more for the family market lately.  There are also the really expensive lines like Radisson and Crystal, as well as those based in Europe [MSC, etc] that tend to attract Europeans, even in the Caribbean.

Choosing the cruise line is only the first step in deciding on a cruise.  Each line has several ships of different sizes, ages, and with different amenities.  Ships have different types of staterooms, many different ports of call, etc, etc.

Do some reading up - it can be lots of fun researching a cruise.  After you have some ideas, you can go to a website like CruiseCritic.com [click on "Boards" and "Reviews"] to get even more information, very current, from past passengers.

Have fun picking out a cruise - and, of course, going on your cruise!

  7. For kids, Disney is great, but for adults, then I would have to say Princess cruise lines. I have been on 8 cruises with Princess.

  8. royal caribbean

  9. I like Carnival the best out of what I have been on--Carnival, Disney, Princess, and Royal Caribbean.
