Best DSLR below $450?

Question

I'm on a tight budget and I only have $530 overall, but I highly prefer not to spend all of it since i've been saving it for a while...Are there any DSLR cameras below $450? I've looked at circuit city and best buy and the cheapest i found was $495. Are there any stores that sell them cheaper? Also, what is the best brand for DSLRs? I'm a beginner photographer on a tight budget so I need some advice/help. thanks.

The only brand new ones you'll find for under that are the Nikon D40 and the Canon Rebel XT.

Alternatively you could buy a used camera on eBay. If you get a previous-generation camera it'll be in your price range. For example, you can get the Canon 20D (precursor to 40D) on eBay for around $450.
