  1. Don't even throw your money at it.....

Get the PS3 for it's "best bang for the buck" design or get the Samsung player if you just want "movies only"....

I've got 80 dollar-bills.....I think I'll just throw it out into the wind and see if I get it all back..

  2. sony

  3. Try bul ray my frieand

  4. If your not yet ready to put your hard earned money into a blu ray player the next best thing would be an Up-converting player. These type of players will (if and only if you connect it with an HDMI cable) take the standard 480 interlaced lines on  a dvd and rescale it to your HD resolution of choice (720p, 1080I or some do 1080P) this will cause a dramatic difference in the picture quality over a regular (progressive scan) dvd player which simple takes the 480I lines and makes them progressive resulting in a minor quality difference on a standard def set.

  5. Upper conversion: Puts Standerd Def DVDS in to high def : 720p and 1080i through HDMI only! Would recomend 720p over 1080i it looks better

Progressive Scan: Leaves Reg dvds in Reg format

  6. You need an upconverting DVD player that will upconvert to 1080p. A Progressive scan dvd player just gives you a progressive 480 picture. So it's nowhere near HD. The Upscaling dvd players will give you a "near HD" picture. It's the closest thing you'll get to Blu-ray (althought it's not comparable in quality really. Blu-ray is amazing!)
