Question:

Best FREE photo editing program for a mac?

I just got a new Macbook and am trying to learn how to use it. I've quickly discovered that iphoto is not nearly advanced enough. I don't need anything too fancy (I was using ACDSee on my PC), but would like more features in image editing than iphoto offers. Can anyone suggest a good, FREE program I could download?

  1. A very good Photo-Editing software available is Adobe PhotoShop, but only a 30-day trial for PhotoShop is available for free. To try it out go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads

A free alternative to PhotoShop is GIMP. While it is as powerful as PhotoShop, it's a bit harder to use. If you can't get your head around it, check some tutorials on YouTube:

    http://www.gimp.org

    Hope that helps.

  2. Here you can directly download gimp

    http://www.fileforumz.com/downloads/file...

If you go there from here of course you'll need the latest version of Yahoo tools but I'm sure you already have that anyway.

    Good Luck!

  3. I would suggest Adobe Photoshop or just use Photobucket. Hope this helps! (=

  4. iPhoto comes with all Macs as part of the iLife suite. It has basic editing capabilities such as cropping, brightness control, red eye, etc., etc.

However, if you want better editor, use GIMP or Paint.net

    Download here

    Gimp-http://www.google.com/custom?hl=en&clien...

    Paint.net -http://www.google.com/cse?cx=00689659980...

or u can go to http://download.com and search
