Well, I really want to know what the "best" Fist Martial Arts is. I know it's impossible to say, But what is the most brutal and still legal Martial Arts? I don't want to do submissions or throws like on Judo. But fist work like Kung Fu and Karate and stuff. What would be the best for brutal intense fighting? I heard that San Shou was brutal and deadly, Is that legal to learn still? And for kicking, I always liked Tae Kwon Do. Is there anything better, though?

  1. Best Fist Martial Arts.... Boxing or Wing Chun.

Best Leg Martial Arts.....Thai Boxing or Tae Kwon Do.

    Best wishes :)***

  2. Non-sport Muay Thai, Isshin Ryu karate, San Shou, Ninjitsu, Karv Maga.

You really said it best when you said I know its impossible to say. There are practitioners of all the various martial arts who have honed their skill in that form to a lethal and effective point. There are others in the same style who fail miserably.

Many don't realize, using Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do, that many styles are much more brutal than people let on to. If you look at Bruce Lee's books there is a plethora of "death blows", groin attacks, eye gouging,   etc,... JKD, Krav Maga, Isshin Ryu, Ninjitsu are some I've done reading

or have or know people who have experience with they are truly full contact realistic fight styles and are all very "brutal". Not to be used in sport fighting.

What you really need to be doing is listing your size and fighting tendencies and asking what would be the best style for you. There are plenty of people are unreal with Wing Chun, and they're nearly all small sized people. Larger people still can and do take it but tend to be less successful. You really need to do more research into what people are more successful at what styles and go from there.

  3. first off there is no such thing as an "illegal" martial art, assuming youre in the US. and also what do you mean by best? but anyway; a couple  fist reliant MA are western boxing, wing chun. some very leg reliant MA are tae kwon do, capoiera. notice i have ommited muay thai, this is only because of its high frequency use of elbows and knees, not a comment on its effectiveness

  4. the law applies to all arts. from boxing to karate...you cant just beat people up. it doesnt matter what art you practice, the law in your state says when and to what extend you can use it.

the only fist art is boxing. western boxing. all other arts use more than just fists.

if all you want to do is punch and kick...muay thai is the art for you.
