Okay.. Here it goes; My best friend is traveling with us to San Francisco,CA (SMF) from Providence,RI (PVD) and his last name is different from ours. When we fly, do we need any special trave documents? Because I don't want them to think that we are kidnapping somebody or something like that. I tried calling Delta, but the guy just wouldn't understand my question and keep blabbering on and on how cheap their hotels and cars are for rentals and stays, but I said the company my parents work for are sending us there with all the needs.

So, for him to be able to come with us... What do we need to do? If this matters (hopefully not), he is caucasian and we are asians (with no accent suprisingly). Please help! Because I have to know very soon. Thanks!

  1. A couple of things...

First of all, it won't matter at all about him traveling with you since you're staying in the US.  If you were crossing an international border, then you would need a notarized statement from both parents authorizing him to travel.

Secondly, if you're traveling to SMF, you're flying into Sacramento, not San Francisco.  You might want to be aware of that since Sacramento is about 100 miles away.

What is a good idea, however, is to have his parent(s) sign a medical authorization that would allow your parents to authorize treatment if there were a medical emergency.

    Safe travels!

    Good luck!
