garmin 60csx with handle bar mount. Tracks both on land and roads with auto mapping, color display, compass, water proof and newly lowerd to 399.00 new. cant get any better dual purpose, its what alot of bikers use.

I don't know what your idea of affordable is.  I bought a Garmin Zumo it will track and map your rides and it's waterproof.
