Best Grandfinal - Best SOS of last 20 years or so?

Question

I have been stuck in the US for 4 months (and probably will be for another 5 to 10 years). I have made some friends with group of people into sport (went to the SuperBowl with them) and they are curious about Rugby League - so on Anzac Day going to have a BBQ at my place. Just realised I should put some League on the TV in the background. What is the best State of Origin and Grand Final you recall. Will get a mate to set it up so I can download to the PC.

And I brought the Wests Tigers '05 win with me :)

Please stick to last 20 or so years as it is easier for me to source.

The 1989 Grand Final Canberra v Balmain, the greatest Grand Final I have seen myself, great win by the Raiders.

The 2004 Grand Final Canterbury V Easts or Sydney City

great win by Canterbury.As for SOS any series where NSW have won or won convincingly eg 3-0. Enjoy the day mate!.

as much as it crushed me to see the storm lose to the broncos in the 2006 grand final.. it was a tight game.. good game to watch... the 2006 origin series was good too... if ur a QLD supporter...

watch some of the bulldogs game in 04, from round 20 to grand final. They had good game, everyone was in form.

You should also watch the 05 origin when andrew johns came back to slay the maroons.

I would say that the 2006 grand final between the Storm and the Broncos would be an excellent one to put on. It is easily the best game that I can remember in recent times. It was relatively low scoring (2 tries each), with many huge name players.

I might also put on the last state of origin match from last year, since that was also, in my opinion, a good game. The Queenslanders were desperate to win, so they were giving it their all.

The only other game that I can remember, and recommend, would be the state of origin game several years back, when Alfie Langer made that one-off surprise comeback. It was a bit one sided, but their were some excellent plays and tactics used in the game. It would be a good one to show, also, because it was just such an exciting game. Maybe this was because I was well aware of the hype around the game, but some of the breaks in the game were great.

Voted the best Grand Final of the last 20 years was Canberra v Balmain with extra time in 1989.  

1997 when Newcastle won in the last few seconds, over Manly, was brilliant as well.  

1999 Melbourne v St George/Illawarra had a great ending in last few minutes, with a penalty try deciding the game.

Best State of Origin Game 2, 1991 (29 May 1991) NSW 14 Qld 12.  The whole series in that year, each game was decided by 2 points.

Definitely the gutsy win by Penrith in 2003 is one of the great GF's. As for SOS, game 1 1994 Coyne scored that miracle try in the dying seconds (bloody Queensland)!

ok then you definetely need to get the 06 grand final between the storm and the broncos, really tight and tough game, you also probably should get the 04 grand final between the dogs and the roosters and maybe state of origin 06 and 02...other than that take ur pick hehe
