As a New South Welshman, i'm naturally biased, as a Parramatta supporter, even more so when i say Price-Sterling-Kenny were the best scrum base. Although i was also a huge Wayne Pearce fan.

But best halfs combination....Sterling-Lewis, Langer-Lewis, Joey-Lockyer, Mortimer-Lamb, or just Sterling-Kenny?

I must admit even though i hated him in a maroon jersey, Lewis was the King, but Joey was the Greatest, but combinations? Sterling-Kenny.

  1. Clay, Smith & Raper

  2. For NSW and Australia: Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler and Danny Burdias

For QLD: Wally Lewis and Allan Langer and Steve Walters

Dream halves: Wally Lewis and Andrew Johns

  3. Johns & Johns from the mid 90's at Newcastle.

Stuart & Daley from early 90's at Canberra.

Langer & Walters from early to mid 90's at Brisbane.

Sterling & Kenny from 80's at Parramatta.

Langer & Lewis from late early 90's with QLD.

  4. hey go the eels, were not dead yet!

    i cant split between..... lewis-langer and sterlo-kenny

barret and johns went all rite too!

  5. Smith - Finch

  6. Probably Tim Smith and Brett Finch but there could be others...are you talking about nowadays or the past or just any time ever in NRL?

  7. you cannot doubt that langer/lewis and langer/walters were probably the most dominant combinations EVER

i wont even dwell into the reason why, ill just leave it at this:

    5 premierships in 10 years.

  8. Sterling & Lewis for Australia.  That was only for internationals so we didn't get to see what I believe is the best.

    Others are

Stuart & Daley - Canberra (Had to start with them)

    Sterling & Kenny - Parra

    Toovey & Lyons - Manly

    Langer & Lewis - Brisbane

  9. well i would say for the past three years jonathan thurstan and matty bowen the are the newest leathel combination

Gees u lot create the most stupid questions!!  Bloody Morons & Losers!! Go out and make some friends and don't be stuck around like 'couch-potatoes', glued to your PC -- 24/7!!  Better still....Go and get a life!!!  Because u don't bloody have one!!  Fair Dinkum!!

  11. Agree with the Kenny - Sterling - Price assessment - but Daley - Stuart - Clyde were good.

I prefer looking at 5/8, half and hooker anyway - as generally first three players to touch the ball from a tackle. In that case for a club I think Daley - Stuart - Walters just beats Kenny - Sterling - Edge.

Personally I did enjoy the Marshal - Prince - Farrah combo of 2005, just because they were young, unpredicable and lead the tigers to a GF win, but wouldn't be close to the best of all time for a club.
