Who would be the best replacement? Wilson, or do you have somebody else in mind?

  1. Ron Wilson is a good choice, but I'd bring an old hero back, John Anderson, coach of Chicago in the AHL. He was a great player, and made a good burger at his restaurant, John Anderson's Burgers, or JA's to us in the early 80's. He's been a great coach in the minors, a number of teams are interested in him, but more  importantly, the city would embrace him. Besides, if Burke becomes the GM ( as I've heard in rumors ) he loves Anderson.

  2. The Toronto Maple Leafs are currently going after Ron WIlson, the former head coach of the San Jose Sharks. This guy is a great coach who knows how to make a team into a winner. He has a lot of knowledge about the game of hockey.

  3. I wish they would pursue Ted Nolan as head coach.

  4. Torterella would be a great choice given he isnt one for the country club atmoshere that prevails now in Toronto. The problem with him would be overcoming the stigma of being an American born coach....plain and simple that wont set with the locals. The next best choice would be Ron Wilson but is he willing to put up with the mis-management? I dont see that happening. The guy that may end up with the job that nobody seems to talk about might be John Anderson (Chicago Wolves). The guy wins no matter what and someone will offer him a deal...could it be the Leafs? With the front office debacle and brutal Toronto press there will be no shortage of potential candidates saying Thanks but No Thanks so Anderson might get a harder look than anyone realizes. Of course any time a team wins the Cup the assistants get mention for head coaching jobs so I wouldnt be a bit surprised to hear Todd McLellans name brought up as well.

  5. Satan ! cuz the only way the leafs have a winning season

is if they sell their souls

  6. theres talk that alot of teams are coveting Mclellan, the the Red Wings assistant coach. i know San Jose is one of the teams jocking him hard.

  7. Wilson, but until the Leafs hire a permanent GM, no one will take it. Would you take a job like that, not knowing who your boss is?  Wilson hasn't exactly leaped to grab it, either.  Leafs need to get their house in order first.  If the Leafs are waiting a year to get Burke as GM after his contract is up in Anaheim, then I could see Wilson waiting until next year and Leafs going with an interim.

  8. Well, since Wilson has a contract offer and has until June 16th to respond - I think he's the guy.

Fletcher has also stated that if Wilson turns it down, there is someone else they've talked to that they will offer the job too..........and based on Wilson being offered the contract the day Tortorella was fired, it can't be Tortorella.

I was hoping Wilson would end up in Ottawa,  he's good friends with Bryan Murray

  9. I think wilson would be great, he knows how to lead a team and he jjust got fired cause his team was like the Dallas Stars before this year. The Sharks were on a tear in the regular season, but sucked in the post season.

I also think Torterella would be good, he was a great coach who improved Tampa Bay so much before this, he also has a great record, 215-179-42-42, his team has a hrroble year, that is all.
