Best Low Price Camcorder that will play directly to TV ?

Hi, I'm a Speech and Language Therapist and need a camcorder to use in clinic. I will need to tape parents/carers/school support staff working with children, and within that session, be easily able to rewind a 10 minute section of tape with no editing and play and pause it through a TV. What would be a good model? I would ideally like to spend less than £200 GBP and it will be coming from my own pocket, not the NHS so would love advice regarding the cheapest model that will do the job adequately (remembering voice needs to be clearly audible). Choosing a camera can seem like a difficult process, but our team of experts have looked at your needs and come up with two suggestions for you, depending on your preference and your current TV.

You could opt for a camcorder that records straight on to normal size DVD’s.  For this I would recommend the Samsung VP-DX100, currently £159.99, it features 34 times optical zoom and 1200 times digital zoom, it also has a 2.7” LCD screen. As this camera records straight to DVD you can watch it in using any DVD player to playback the recorded video, or use the AV output to watch it from the camera itself.

The other option is go for a hard disk drive or SD memory card camcorder, which has an AV out connection. You will be able to use the AV output to watch these on the TV through the camcorder.  If this is of interest then I would suggest the Panasonic S7, currently £197. It’s small, lightweight at only 165grammes, has a 10 times optical zoom and 700 times digital zoom. It also has a 2.7” LCD screen and features a handy remote control so you can operate from in front of the camera.

I bought this for the kids to muck around with and I was astonished at how good the sound and picture quality was for the price (£65!) It fits in the palm of your hand so isn't too intrusive and comes with the cables so it can be connected straight to the TV.

*It uses an SD memory card for storage which means you can store things directly onto your PC too if it has a slot or via the included cables.
