  1. You don't need a lot.. the two pieces of luggage I suggest... is a back pack for the plane as a carry on, also to be used during the day while walking around DC.. and a Med size suitcase that has WHEELS on it.. nothing worse than lugging around a suitcase that is half the size of you... Also remember that the cheaper the suitcase the more likely it won't last you but a few trips.. the airlines are notorius for destroying luggage..

As far as clothes and stuff.. bring a sweat jacket or shirt to cover up with when the sun goes down it gets cooler.. also no more than 2 pairs of pants.. you may want to throw in 1 pair of shorts.. the weather could be warm.. it has been known to happen.  Also I can't stress this enough.. TENNIS SHOES, SNEAKERS  whatever you want to call them with clean socks for every day.. blisters is the number 1 problem with tourists who aren't use to doing a lot of walking.. and DC is mostly a walking type of town.. perhaps a pair of flip flops for when you are at the hotel.. also don't forget your swimsuit just in case the hotel has a pool and you get some time to go..

    Enjoy your trip
