Question:

Best Make-up for a teenager??

I'm 14.

I have a very clear complexion. Not very tan but not very pale either.

I have recently been using Revlon base in 100 Nude with very little power, (also with mascara etc.)

But--it seems to me like my base/make-up isn't the best I can be using. I'm going to the mall and stuff tomorrow; so what do you recommend me get? Any suggestions? If so, please locate where I'd be able to buy this at.

Thank you in advance.

  1. Well, if you have good skin I am always for no foundation or base materials, it just clogs the skin. I found with my skin all the inexpensive foundations make my face very oily or cakey.

So if you want a really good kit  that is quite expensive but works wonderfully, I would go for bare minerals for the very base. You can get that at their store and a whole kit will cost you a little more than $100. You can buy bits, it is really worth it, but again, you are young and if you have nice skin, I still don't recomend any bases.

Look for elongating mascara's because the volume never works. The expensive ones work just as well as the inexpensive so it doesn't really matter. Another thing you can add to your simple makeup look is this product called Polyester Bride by Urban Decay. It is soft, silver and sparkely, very light and etheral while still giving a pop, and it looks fantastic on light skin. That one is over at Sephora for $14 or $18.

Another thing you can do is get some eyebrightener, again silver would look nice for your skin. Pink toned brighteners look a little wierd. You can try out Miss Popularity, I forget who it is by, but its at Sephora and they will know the name. Add it to your tearducts and its an instant pop.

And for the last bit, some luscious gloss would dress it up while still keeping it young and fun. Victoria Secret carries these sparkle glosses that look really great and they are flavored in all different tastes and colors. You can get one for about $7 or a whole box set for $25 - $30. It's worth it.

I am only 18 and love, love, love my makeup so if you are looking for some fun and funkey colors Make Up forever is my absolute favorite at Sephora! Hot pinks, birght blues, everything is there, and is really fun($20 each). Also Two Faced has amazing sprakled gloss ($14) that sparkles like no other and some great glitter eye liners as well ($18). They have a fun Kitty Glitter for the body too (only $10) Urban Decay does also but I would stay away from there eyeshadows, they tend to change colors!

I personally don't reccomend MAC, I there stuff fades quick especially there sparkles tend to clump. Also a great thing to pick up from any supermarket or target, makeup removers by N7, they work great. Well, I hope I helped! Hope your shopping goes well! Have fun with makeup while you're young!

  2. if you have a clear complexion, don't wear foundation, just use powder to control shine. why put gunk in your pores when your skin is perfect? so i recommend getting mac's studio fix powder or a translucent powder and some concealer from mac for those days when you get those stupid pimples :]

i also recommend getting bare escentuals blush in lovely. its a pink thats very natural and flushed looking. i also like revlon's just bitten lip stain or benefit's posietint. it gives cheeks and lips a pretty natural tint that lasts forever. bare escentuals and benefit can be found at department stores, sephora, and ulta. revlon is a drugstore brand.

i also like victoria's secret beauty rush lipgloss in strawberry fizz

  3. im 14 2

if u have a clean complection, there is no need for makeup it just a waste of time and money, intead buy a tinted moisturizer, or a finishing powder

if u know how to apply blush and make it look natural then go ahead, but dont wear it daily.

i always have some mascara and lipgloss on

and sometimes a put on a little line of liner on my lower lid to open up my eyes a bit more

for brand i would suggest MAC, i cant afford everything by it but if u can, it the best brand out there!

  4. MedusasMakeup.com, it has a lot of high-pigmented shadows and "eye-dust". I love it! They have amazing shades, and well you're young you should play it up a bit.

  5. I forget who manufactures it but it is called corn silk - translucent is nice because it doesn't really look like it's there but it is.So it not being blended in isn't an issue!

Another thing I like is powdered bronzer for blush because it isn't blush but it is - The kind I love comes in a little brown like pot with a cork & has a fat short brush.

I like all the loose powders that you shake some out of a shaker with a brush under the domes.

I don't wear it often because if people don't like what they see they really don't have to look at it !

    BTW

my skin tone is orangeish (i have red hair) not pink tones so that is also a consideration when buying makeup.Ask yourself this :

am I orange or pink ?

  6. hahahaha, mall makeup makes me feel like im wearing heavy makeup;

    i like, maybeline, and covergirl ; - first; its cheap, second very good quality;

have you try cover girl truBlend? - it works great ! ; i don`t know if they still sell this, but go to walmart, and try to find trublend foundation, and powder, for ten dollars, :P -

  7. I am 14 too! and I kinda have similar complexion to you..not tan but not pale. I'll explain my make-up routine and where i buy my products!

    1. I use covergirl liquid cover up (buy at target or CVS) under my eyes

I also sometimes use just a stick of coverup that i buy at ULTA! I use it under my eyes and on the side of my nose

    2. Next I apply a foundation type thing. I buy at Target it is also by covergirl

    3. I apply eyeshadow usually a light tan color and then a darker brown on top. This is also made by covergirl

    3. I put on covergirl blush. You just need to find the right shade and youare good to go!

I have really long eyelashes so I do not use mascara but sometimes I put on Vaseline. I read this on cosmogirl.com

If you dont feel like putting mascara on but want to look awake put vaseline on your eyelashes.

    Goodluck! Hope I could help!

  8. i would say really light pink blush, light pink lipgloss, not too much mascara and a lil bit of eyeliner
