Best Medieval Total War 2 Faction?

Question

I could easily conquer the world with England but I'm getting bored with them. I tried Turkey and got pissed because I had a crusade on me AND the Mongols slaughtering my cities. I don't like HRE because they are so spread out. Is Hungary, Byzantine, or Denmark any good?

hmm......

out of those three, i would have to say that denmark is the best. their kings and princes usually have better command and influence then hungary, however hungary does verge on the borderline between catholic and non, meaning that it can easily conquer those non-catholic countries with the pope's support (sending free crusades, an extra 1000 florins every once in a while. the byzantine empire, is where you get it - small, however, if you choose middle or late period, has a fortress, and very good tax, something like 1000 florins in the main state, so overall, i would recommend the danish.

if you are starting in the late period though, you will want to be the russians. they have an incredibly cheap unique unit ( well, you can only get them in the steppe plains(russia!))steppe cavalry! these can charge incredibly strongly, and can wipe out any army! the golden hoarde are a piece of cake!
