Question:

Best Mid-priced Marine Stereo Package?

I was inquiring about what would be the best midpriced Marine Stereo package for the quality and price. It seems hard to find rigorous reviews for marine stereos or marine speakers. Looking to replace the old inoperable stereo in my boat 1 or 2 months from now.

I'm trying to aim for something close to $140 to 150 or less. I don't mind paying a little more if it is significantly better on the quality.

Personal experience that explains in detail their durability would be helpful. However, if someone could provide more some detailed reviews on their quality, this would be greatlfully appreciated.

Very few places offer sources for reviews of them, and only a few models get any reviews at all. I've already tried Amazon.com, Overtons, and iboats.com on reviews. They don't answer many of my reliability concerns I have.

  2. i got a pyle marine system ,off ebay ,cd player  and 4 speakers for 120 .They sound ok. i had a boss marine system in before ,but it didn`t last very long ,the speakers were ok but the cd player died . In my offshore boat i went to walmart and bought a vr3 cd player with usb.it was 89 dollars .i got it because you load the music on a memory stick play it and it doesn`t skip like a cd .cds in ruff water just don`t work. i have a electronics box so the stereo cant get wet.works good i put two 6 1/2 wake board speakers  on my t top and 2 4 1/2 on the bottom of my electronics box..it rocks the pyle wake board speakers are pretty good .My friend has a kenwood system it sounded good ,but after a month the speakers blew.the only difference between most normal stereo gear and marine gear is the color

i think the pyle marine is good , i`ve had mine 2 years. there marine speakers are good the wake board speakers they have sound really good . If you are putting the system in a electronics box ,you don`t really need a marine stereo .and just because its a marine stereo dosn`t mean if it gets wet it won`t go bad ,i had a boss marine with the external waterproof controler , the controller went bad 2nd trip , then my console leaked and the stereo went bad a month later

most people where i live just get a cheap radio mount it on there console and put a waterproof facecover on it.
